H1) Loughcrew House

Built in the 1850’s Loughcrew House was designed by Charles Robert Cockerell. The house sits on 200 acres of parkland and within a valley below the Loughcrew Cairns. A beautiful setting for a wedding or event.

 

H2) Loughcrew Megalithic Centre – Maggie Heaney’s Traditional Irish Cottage

The life of Maggie Heaney is a world away from the comforts of today. This traditional Irish cottage was built in the 1700’s and was the inspiration for the Megalithic Centre. Hear stories about the hardy people working the land to create a happy home. The heritage museum includes an audiovisual guide and showcases traditional items and crafts from times gone by. Maggie’s Courtyard is the perfect place to relax with a glass of wine or bite to eat. Overnight accommodation available.

 

H3) Belvedere House & Gardens Park

Belvedere House was constructed in 1740s as a hunting and fishing lodge for Lord Belfield -The first Earl of Belvedere. See one of the most spectacular follies in Ireland – The Jealous Wall. Wander around the walled garden and Victorian glasshouse or take one of the woodland/lakeshore walks. The playground and magical Fairy Garden makes it perfect day out for families.

 

H4) Farnham Estate & Health Spa

This 16th-century estate is the perfect place to pamper yourself for the day. The award winning spa offers a gym, indoor-outdoor hydrotherapy infinity pool, relaxation areas and a thermal suite. Practice your golf swing or simply take a stroll on one of the many nature trails on the 1,300 acre site.
